Rebuilding More Than a Business

Feels a bit like finally clearing years of background noise and I can actually breathe again.

A Different Kind of Reset

Over the last year or so I've realised I've been rebuilding more than just a business.

It started fairly simply, lose some weight, sort my head out a bit, try to be a healthier and more functional person overall. But somewhere along the line it turned into a wider reset. Small routine changes ended up having a strange knock-on effect across everything else, work, motivation, creativity, even just how I think day to day.

Learning to cook has been fun, not that I was a bad cook but I was absolutely winging it when I did. Improving the way I eat has been much easier when I am more easily able to cook with and enjoy healthier ingredients.

Rebuilding the Site

Part of that ended up being this site redesign.

The old version wasn't bad exactly, it just didn't feel like me anymore. It felt like something built during a different phase of life and I think websites quietly carry that sort of thing with them.

So I stripped a lot of it back and rebuilt it with a clearer head. Cleaner, more intentional, a bit more personal without turning into one of those painfully curated "personal brand" things.

I wanted the site to feel connected to both the technical work I'm doing and the progress happening away from the keyboard as well, which oddly feels like the more important part these days.

Coding Feels Creative Again

A lot of that renewed energy has come from working with modern LLMs and coding tools.

The speed of progress in this space still feels slightly absurd at times. You can go from vague idea to functioning prototype so quickly now that it almost changes the shape of creativity itself. Less like chiselling stone, more like sketching directly onto reality and refining as you go.

It's made programming feel genuinely fun again for me, experimental, messy, creative. Less "engineering as paperwork", more like building weird little machines in a garage to see what happens.

The UAP Rabbit Hole

Outside of tech, I've also been following the American UAP disclosure stuff quite closely.

I've got no idea where any of it ultimately lands, and honestly I think keeping a level head around the topic is important, but it's still fascinating watching something that used to sit entirely on the fringe slowly edge its way into more mainstream discussion.

Feels like one of those subjects where even the conversation itself is historically interesting, regardless of the final answers. I'm very curious to see where it all goes over the next few years.

Why This Blog Exists

For now though, this blog is mostly just a place to think out loud a bit.

Somewhere for projects, ideas, progress updates, random technical rabbit holes and whatever else happens to grab my attention that week, ADHD permitting.

I've got no expectations around posting schedules or even sticking to a particular topic. I just like having a corner of the internet that feels a bit more human again.
